Tate Hemingston

Congratulations to Tate Hemingson of Strasburger for being selected as the March 2017 Center Stage section member. Mr. Hemingson was the Section's 2016 Chair, and since then, has continued to support the Section with programming and providing resources for Section members.

Mr. Hemingson is a litigator who practices at both the trial and appellate level, advising clients through pre-suit demands and negotiations, trials, enforcements of judgements, and the appeal process. He uses his litigation experience to represent franchisors and franchisees in all types of disputes in court and arbitration. He has represented a national franchisor in arbitration against claims by a franchisee over territory interference and a national distributor against wrongful termination claims under state law. He also counsels franchisee clients in negotiating development agreements, franchise agreements, leases, and other issues that may arise. Congratulations to Sarah Walters of Winstead PC for being selected as the inaugural January 2017 Center Stage section member. Ms. Walters’ service to the Section began as the 2015 Chair. Since then, she has continued to provide invaluable advice and direction as to the Section’s meeting content and member activities. The Board appreciates Ms. Walters’ dedicated mentorship and her knowledge of the franchise and distribution industry.

Ms. Walters’ primary practice area is commercial transactions, which includes supply chain management, transportation, technology, licensing, and business process outsourcing. She also advises both emerging and mature companies on planning, structuring and implementing national and international franchise, distribution and licensing programs.  She is involved with the Legal Symposium Task Force of the International Franchise Association, Texas Restaurant Association/Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, and sits on the Advisory Committee for the Kids Fit Menu of Medical City Children’s Hospital.
